Guest comments about First Farm Inn

ride horses in Kentucky,

This mom was so enchanted by her daughter’s sweet note about riding horses at First Farm Inn that she photographed and forwarded it.

Here are guest comments First Farm Inn visitors have shared in room journals.  We are honored to have the opportunity to help create good  memories for our visitors. Here is a photo of a note a happy child was inspired to write and her mom forwarded.  And here are some of the most recent comments from our guests.

“Our breakfast was fabulous.”

“My son and I died and went to heaven!  We came here for a spring break getaway.  We both love horses.  We enjoyed the horse grooming, riding experience.  Jen is very knowledgeable.  She helped me feel comfortable riding when I had not been on a horse for many years.  Her home is clean, inviting, lovely.  Our breakfast was fabulous.  My son and I loved our ‘quality time’ here.  I will definitely be back.”          Columbus, OH

“Thanks again Jen & Dana, for another lovely, peaceful weekend.  You have such a charming way of making people feel at home.  We’ll always remember your lovely place as it’s where we got ENGAGED today!  See you next time.”   Georgetown, KY

It’s fun to play ball with him!  Dana has a huge talent. I enjoyed his piano playing! Breakfast was delicious—chocolate chip and banana pancakes.  Thank you so much for letting us ride the horses!  Thank you for the hot tub.  It was hot, but I got in and it was heavenly!  I enjoyed my stay VERY much and I slept well.  I WANT a lot to come back next year or sooner!”  Lewis Center, OH

“Steve, Sue & Bella stayed here for two nights and absolutely love it.  Jen is the nicest, most patient, most go-with-the-flow person ever.  Bella just loved her time as a farm dog!  Can’t wait to ride tomorrow.  Wished we lived closer.  I’d make this permanently in the rotation. Awesome place!”  Freedom, WI

“Thank you so much for a most lovely weekend. Everything from the food to the horses to the accommodations was wonderful!! Oh, and your company was delightful!  Hope to be back in the future!”

Your home has been so comfortable and cozy.  The yard is so green and the flowers that are up are beautiful.  Will bet they will be magnificent this summer.  The horse instruction alone was well worth coming to KY!  Your sensitivity to the horse’s perceptions and experience sets a standard so high!  I will try harder always to see and think from their perspective.  Thank you most of all for that.  You invested in someone’s life today and I doubt it will be forgotten.  You are a gift.  You gave a gift!  Thank you.”

“Thank you for all that you have done for us.  I love all your animals (horses, cats, chickens and Odo).  I really enjoyed the horseback ride and lesson.  I really learned a lot.  Your house is so beautiful.  I loved looking at all the lamps, pictures and glassware.  Our room was very comfortable and cozy.  The dining table is set so elegantly.  I felt like a queen sitting in the dining room with such delicious food.”  Franklin, NC

riders-n-sign“Thank you for sharing your beautiful home with us.  The last four days were just what we needed after a busy week in Lexington.  I am so happy that I found your home on the internet and was able to make it work for my daughter and I.  The trail riding was a great experience.  You horses are just perfect. Bode, Koda & Blue were gems – but we love horses!  The breakfasts were delicious and kept us full for hours.  We appreciated the helpful information on where to go and what to do.  What a beautiful part of the U.S.   We feel blessed to have enjoyed it so much!  Thank you!   Tigard, OR

“Your hospitality will be treasured for years to come.  What a memorable and relaxing stay this was.  We dragged our feet leaving each day because it really, truly was hard leaving this beautiful sanctuary (unfortunately we had to eat and had family obligations).  To be welcomed by all of your animals every day was such a treat.  Thank you for everything.”  San Jose, CA

“Thank you for a wonderful weekend.  We had a great time.  Your place is beautiful.  Thank you very much for the great breakfasts.  I even enjoyed the horse riding, even though I was scared I was going to fall off the horse.  You gave us a memorable weekend.”  Dayton, OH

“Thank you for sharing your beautiful home with us and for the best trail ride of my life! Easton, PA

“The food was a feast for a weary traveler.”

PageLines- slider-breakfast-02.jpg“On our girls holiday we were immediately struck by the beauty of this uniquely laid out house.  But what made it feel like a dollhouse was every thoughtfully laid, lovingly place detail.  We relaxed by drinking it in with our eyes.  The food was a feast for a weary traveler.  What made your home feel like a home away from home was our privacy!  How do you do that?  Horses, chores, fishing, hot tub, Odo.  We came with joy and leave with joy abundantly.”  Jonesboro, GA

“Thank you for the wonderful birthday getaway. We can’t remember the last time we were so relaxed and carefree.  The apple birthday cake with candles was very special, since we are away from family.  It made us feel at home.  Thank you for all of your awesome suggestions of paces to visit and for your patience with us on the horseback ride.  We picked this B&B for the animals and were not disappointed.  There were lots of cats around for some fur therapy.  We will be back someday.  Thank you again.”  Federal Way, WA

“Thank you so much for providing a comfortable and well-equipped place for us and our horse to stay.  It was really nice not to have to worry about “Kitty” being safe along our journey.  Look forward to seeing you soon on our return trip north.”   Mount Forest, ONT

flower garden“Dear First Farm Friends, Thank you for a great weekend.  Our family enjoyed our beautiful home.  The animals have adoring fans.  Jen, your breakfasts are amazing.  Your hospitality and kindness will be long remembered.” Knoxville, TN

“Shalom Dana, Jen & family!  Our stay was awesome!  From the moment we stepped foot in the door, a warm, peaceful feeling swept over us.  Each quiet rest was greeted in the morning by good company and food that seemed to have love cooked right into it.  Of course, the main attraction had to be the horse riding lessons.  The horses seemed to come alive with Jen’s presence.  She spoke to them as though they were her very own children.  Jen took the time to teach us so much about the care and handling of these incredible creatures.  Within no time, Vicki, Jake and myself were up and riding.  It was so exciting to discover that in order to take the trails with our horses, we’d need to apply the principles Jen was teaching us.  Each horse displayed his own unique personality.  In short order, each of us, including my son was riding, steering, trotting and cantering our horses.  It couldn’t go unmentioned that Odo and his cat buddies did a fine job of making us feel like welcomed guests.  We will miss your family, both human and non, and the made-with-love meals!”   Belleville, IL

“First Farm!  Yeah!  Cool views. Warm bubbly hot tub!  Great amenities.  This is worth the short drive off the beaten path.  God bless you and yours!”  SC

“Thank you soooo…..much for being my port in a storm. “

“Thank you soooo…..much for being my port in a storm.  I am so thankful that the barn owner, where I bought my new horse suggested  “Horsehotel.com”  I found your beautiful B&B and I cannot say enough about the gracious hospitality that was given to me and my friend and new horse.  Never, in my wildest nightmares did I think I would be caught in an ice storm.  I think I was holding my breath up until I pulled into the driveway of First Farm.  I hope to see you again, Jennifer — either at the Horse expo in Ohio, or at your farm as a guest again. Thank you again for opening your home and farm to me and my new horse.  It was such a relief to have a safe haven in the storm.”
