Jen Warner & Dana Kisor operate First Farm Inn, Kentucky’s artfully unique bed and breakfast for people who love animals, creativity, history and the environment.
First Farm Inn is a two-room Kentucky bed and breakfast just 20 minutes from downtown Cincinnati.
The 150-year-old farm offers unique horsemanship experiences, goat interaction and dog training with horse manager Carolyn Frias.
A two-hour session incorporates horsemanship education, grooming, tacking up and a trail ride that can include trotting, designed for fit and active people over 12-years-old and under 200 pounds.
A lower-key one-hour session, tailored to guests’ wishes, includes grooming, learning how horses think, and working with them on the ground or mounted at the walk. Responsible, well-mannered kids over five (with a helpful parent), and well-balanced riders up to 250 pound can absorb horsey energy this way.
Dog parents may bring a well-mannered canine kid, who interacts pleasantly with people and animals, for a educational two-night stay that includes two half-hour trick-training sessions with Carolyn, a Certified Professional Dog Trainer.
